Merry christmas
Cabernet Watch
Happy Holidays to our friends and neighbors here in Cabernet Highlands.
The Cabernet Watch goals this year have been to reach out and meet as many neighbors as possible, to promote neighborhood watch and to address concerns our neighbors have about our little community.
To date we have met dozens of neighbors and have promoted membership in Neighborhood Watch. Meetings were held every other month during 2023 and interest has been favorable.
Pat, our founder and chair, was able to address traffic speed concerns by getting the Reno Police Department to set up radar carts and to perform a traffic flow study. Unfortunately, RPD felt the traffic flow was mild and did not warrant further action on their part. So, our next move was to see what options were available.
The city will not install speed bumps or other traffic calming devices and our only other option was to purchase speed warning signs that flash the speed to oncoming traffic. These devices have proven to be effective for most drivers in other neighborhoods. However, the cost of these devices is a problem.
Our goals for 2024 are to continue to promote membership and interest in our neighborhood watch group, to hold meetings every other month, and to continue to pursue solutions to issues in our neighborhood.
Cabernet Watch next meeting will be held on January 16, 2024 at Raley’s meeting room at 6:00 p.m.
Cabernet Highlands HOA meeting is scheduled for January 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Raley’s meeting room. For more information about the HOA group go online to First Service residential connect at
